-The 2017 World’s team came together to compete and train together June 17 – 25. The two competitions were a good prelude to the level of world swimming required to be competitive at the upcoming World Championships in late July in Budapest. The team swam well in Canet as the last stop of the Mare Nostrum series. We were able to achieve 8 A final swims and 8 B final swims with two podium finishes along with several best and in- season best times, fortæller Dean.
- The two-day competition allowed staff to set up the next four days of training to address technical skills and race tactics as well as building a team cohesion. This also allowed both swimmers and coaches to realize the required areas to be concentrated on over the next 28 days in preparation for best results in Budapest, uddyber Dean og fortsætter:
- The Settecolli meet in Rome always brings the best of Europe, and several power house performers including a strong contigent from Australia and in many cases of what it will take to win at the World Championships. Each finals session had over 3000 spectators and the noise level of a championship atmosphere. The Danish team continued to show progress with 12 A finals, 6 B finals and a few more personal and in-season best times.
- Bringing the Worlds team together over the past 12 days met many of our expectations and will give us a very good indicator of the track we are on into Budapest. Podium performances from Pernille Blume, Rikke Pedersen and Anton Ipsen demonstrating world level performances along with many other team members showing improving swims establishing a solid performance platform for Budapest, afslutter Dean.
Mange tak til Dean for evalueringen!
