- The eight Great Danes competing in Toronto at the Hicken International showed very good racing form. The competition met our expectations in many ways beyond just the performances in the pool. The swimmers gain valuable experience with coping with travel, time zone change, early preliminary session times, later final session times. They also have experienced training in different environments such as training with the Provincial/National Training Centre program prior to and after the competition.
- The Swimmers won their share of the medals this weekend establishing along the way several meet records, 19 personal best times. The Great Danes also earned a good share of the top performances of the meet. Tobias Bjerg was top male with Jacob Jørgensen earning 3rd spot. Josefine Pedersen was second in the performance board with team mates Maj Howardsen and Maria Grandt holding onto 3rd and 4th respectfully.
- Currently the swimmers will have shared training sessions with the Ontario Swimming Academy and the National Training Centre Ontario where Rio gold medalist Penny Oleksiak trains.
- Great job by the coaches Nikolaj Skovmose and Olaf Wildeboer. Great appreciation to The Mississauga Aquatic club for their generous support for us to attend and compete, afslutter landstræneren.
Mange tak til Dean for evalueringen.
